Love, Unscripted

There I was, that day
Questioning my life, my belief
The pain, the hurt, the false gauge
Provoked me to be the one to leave

Blinded by gilded, fleeting dreams,
By love dressed up like movie scenes.
Soft touches, words spun and laced
Did I condemn him for what he never claimed?

What if all I need is you?
Not grand confessions wrapped in gold,
A love that lingers, fierce yet true,
Your steady hands in storms untold.

I surrender, on my knees
In devotion, my heart agrees
That love isn't always a fleeting spark,
Sometimes embers burning in the dark.
